DISC ONE - THE OMEN (1976)

As the death toll mounts, Robert realizes his son is the Antichrist and decides he must kill the boy to prevent him from fulfilling a cataclysmic prophecy. FROM THE SECRET FILES OF THE VATICAN!

Aging blonde-bombshell Anita Ekberg ( La Dolce Vita , Pick-up Alley ) gives a full-bodied performance as a sex-crazed sister with some seriously bad habits in the lurid cult classic Killer Nun .

One of the most notorious nunsploitation films, Killer Nun tells the sordid story of Sister Gertrude, a disturbed woman of the cloth who degenerates into a perverse mire of drug taking, sexual perversion, sadistic torture and murder. Joe Dallesandro ( The Climber , Flesh for Frankenstein ), Alida Valli ( The Possessed , Suspiria ) and the ample Paola Morra ( Behind Convent Walls ) offer spirited performances and able support to Ekberg, in this outrageous tale based on real events.

Boasting an incongruously classy score by legendary composer Alessandro Alessandroni ( Women's Camp 119 ) and stylishly rendered scenes of sex and murder, Killer Nun takes the viewer on a hair-raising journey from the heights of religious ecstasy to the depths of devilish degeneracy. Now Giulio Berruti s sleazy classic is presented in a stunning new 2K restoration with a liturgy of new extras, ready to be preyed upon.

Immediately following the success of Black Sunday, Mario Bava was recruited to direct (and photograph) the second of Reg Park's Hercules films for producer Achille Piazzi. Freely departing from Roman mythology, the film gave Bava the opportunity to reimagine the sword-and-sandal genre. On its surface a jovial comedy adventure, Hercules in the Haunted World features a striking use of color, which would become one of Bava's directorial hallmarks. But this playful peplum is tinged with a sense of genuine foreboding, voiced by a masked oracle Medea (Gaia Germani) in one of the film's most stunning sequences. When Hercules descends into the depths of hell and confronts Lico (Christopher Lee), who has the power to call forth corpses from their tombs, the film plunges into the eye-popping, bone-chilling horror for which Bava had recently become famous.

Psychological trauma and aberrant sexuality abound in this twisted 1972 tale of a young woman whose severe daddy issues send her on an unforgettably bleak downward spiral.

Yearning for the love of her absentee father, Jamie inhabits an infantilized world surrounded by toys, including those which her wayward pops bizarrely continues to send her. Unable to consummate her new marriage with dashing colleague Charlie, Jamie s chance encounter with aging sex worker Pearl leads her into the murky world of prostitution where her most disturbing erotic fantasies begin to play out.

Grim, quirky and strangely affecting in equal measure, Stanley H. Brasloff s Toys Are Not for Children is a truly one-of-a-kind effort from the heyday of the American exploitation independents, which builds to a haunting and devastating climax that lingers long after the credits roll.

It s not human, and it s got an axe! One of the most underrated efforts to hail from the slice-and-dice boom, The Prey at last emerges from the VHS wilderness in a brand new 2K restoration from the recently unearthed original camera negative.

Three young couples set off into the mountains for a weekend of climbing, drinking and lovemaking. But little do they know that they are stumbling into the terrain of a fearsome predator - a wild man, horrifically burned as a child many years ago in a fire which engulfed his gypsy camp and left only him alive. Now he roams the woods in search of his next human prey.

Filmed in 1979-1980 - making it a contemporary, rather than an imitator, of the likes of Friday the 13th - but not released until 1984 when it was picked up by New World Pictures, The Prey is a unique woodsy slasher gem ripe for reappraisal in this extras-packed, 40th anniversary edition!

    Review from Jon: Uncut

Okay, I'm super-pleased to report that despite my earlier claims, and the claims on many other websites/forums, the Region Free US Blu-Ray of THE STAND is completely uncensored!

The extended sexual assault is in, as is the extended scene of Rayna's suicide. In fact it's exactly identical to the old Artisan DVD edition.

    The only alterations, are:

    1. You can watch the entire 5hr 59m saga in one, ultra-long movie, OR you can view each episode individually. However, although episodes are all titled on-screen, only the start of episode 1 and end of episode 4 have any credits.

    2. At the start of episode 1, the original broadcast edition had a biblical quote from Revelations, which has been replaced with a quote from TS Eliot.

    3. Some of the original broadcast TV logos have been removed or replaced, at the beginning and end of the entire feature.

The picture is better, and far sharper than any previous editions, but the bit-rate varies from 12mbps to 30mbps. So it really should have been spread-over two Blu-Ray's. However, it's still looks amazing even when viewed on my 58 4K Panasonic TV set. You'd never have guessed it was a TV mini-series, from the picture quality.

But it's uncut, and that's what ultimately matters!

US: The Extended Version is uncut and MPAA Unrated for:

WAX MASK - The last great Italian gore film of the 20th Century - now scanned in 4K!

In the mid-'90s, Dario Argento approached a physically and professionally ailing Lucio Fulci to direct one final production, an over-the-top shocker about grisly murders at a Paris wax museum. But when Fulci passed away only weeks before filming began, Argento turned to Sergio Stivaletti - the FX genius on PHENOMENA, OPERA, DEMONS and CEMETARY MAN - to make his feature-directing debut. Original Grand Guignol director/performer Robert Hossein (RIFFIFI) and Aldo Massasso (CONTRABAND) star in what DVD Drive-In hails as "Old-timey luridness married to state-of-the-art gore." The hills are once again alive with the sound of screaming in Wes Craven s hugely entertaining follow-up to his own groundbreaking 1977 The Hills Have Eyes .

A motocross team on their way to trial a new super-fuel head out across the desert lead by Rachel, who, unbeknownst to the rest of the group, is a survivor of the cannibal clan which menaced the Carter family several years before. Opting to take an ill-advised shortcut across the desert, the busload of youngsters drive straight into the path of the remnants of Rachel s demented cannibal kin - the menacing Pluto, and a hulking, blood-hungry brute by the name of The Reaper.

Made by Wes Craven immediately prior to his smash-hit A Nightmare on Elm Street , The Hills Have Eyes Part II diverges from the grim tone of its predecessor in favour of fun action-horror thrills and spills replete with mutants, motorbikes, and - oh yes - dog flashbacks!

Based on his own novella The Hellbound Heart , Barker s Hellraiser sees Larry (Andrew Robinson) and his wife Julia (Clare Higgins) move into their new home, unaware that something evil lurks beneath the floorboards of the dilapidated house something that wants human blood...

It's hazing season at Phi Up and the boys are up to all sorts of nasty pranks on their hapless pledges, in between regular bouts of 'wetting their whistles' at the campus watering hole...with some of the area's beautiful sorority babes. But this is going to be one literal 'hell week' as they unwittingly unleash the spirit of Acid Sid; an unfortunate pledge who was accidentally dissolved in acid during a hazing prank gone wrong some 20 years earlier. As the helpless fratboys and pledges fall victim to Sid's wrath and seemingly indestructible towering zombie corpse, it's up to the stragglers to figure out how to kill someone who's been dead for two decades, or die trying.

A truly one-of-a-kind blending of post- Animal House T&A sex comedy and gore filled supernatural slasher, Paul Ziller's PLEDGE NIGHT unloads a nearly non-stop barrage of weirdness on the viewer. From the jaw dropping, all-based-on-actual-practices, hazing rituals, as meticulously researched by writer/producer Joyce Synder ( Raw Talent ), to the slimy and often 'explosive' gore, from effects wizard Robert Mulvey, along with a soundtrack performed by Anthrax, whose singer, Joey Belladonna makes a memorable onscreen appearance, PLEDGE NIGHT serves up a non-stop ride of horror and weirdness guaranteed to keep you glued to the screen, mouth agape. After being found in bed with another woman, Frederick, a retired mercenary, is blinded by his deranged and spiteful wife, who is then confined to an asylum. Deciding to start a new life and family with his mistress, Helen, but finding that he is unable to successfully impregnate her, Frederick consults with a fertility doctor who agrees to assist in helping them conceive a baby. But unknown to the happy couple, the doctor is actually a member of a Satanic sect who have decided that Helen will be the perfect mother for the Antichrist!

A diamond in the rough of early 80s Euro-horror, then 72 year old filmmaker Ignacio F. Iquino's (directing as Steve McCoy) SECTA SINIESTRA , or, Bloody Sect , barely saw any kind of release outside of its native Spain, despite liberally 'borrowing' plot elements from Rosemary's Baby , with touches of The Exorcist . Brimming over with every key element of Eurosleaze, including surprisingly mean spirited and brutal killings, Satanic possession, loads of nudity, zoom-happy cinematography, absurd plot twists and a pounding score, SECTA SINIESTRA is long overdue to join the ranks of the craziest offerings from Bruno Mattei or Joe D'Amato. Vinegar Syndrome is thrilled to resurrect this forgotten gem from Spain's sleaziest and most entertaining era in film production and presents the impossible to see SECTA SINIESTRA on Blu-ray for the first time, newly restored in 2k from its original 35mm camera negative.

An erotic and surreal odyssey of violence... A stylized limo voyage of depravity and death.

A young man is accused of his ex-girlfriend's murder. Before he's formally charged by the police, he sets out on a two-day odyssey to find the real killer - tracking down his leads from the backseat of a rented limousine; which allows him to contemplate class society, life in the city, and the grime that runs in the small nooks and valleys of cosmopolitan life. Like the earlier works of Vince D'Amato for his Brivido Giallo trilogy, this wildly kinetic and erotic film moves through a world of contemporary, wordless, operatic imagery of sex and violence. Odissea della Morte features the talents of several cult film actors, including Momona Komagata (''Peelers''), Dan Ellis (''Bloodshock''), burlesque starlet Tristan Risk (''American Mary'', ''Amazon Hot Box''), and cult icon Lynn Lowry (''Shivers'', ''The Crazies'', and 1982's ''Cat People'').

Former Bond star George Lazenby ( On Her Majesty s Secret Service , The Man from Hong Kong ) headlines this classic giallo directed by Aldo Lado ( Short Night of Glass Dolls , Night Train Murders ) as compelling for its haunting atmosphere, twists and turns as for its parallels with another great Venetian horror/thriller Nicolas Roeg s Don t Look Now .

Sculptor Franco Serpieri (Lazenby) welcomes Roberta (Nicoletta Elmi, Deep Red ) his young daughter from a failed marriage to Venice, unaware that a disturbed child-killer is stalking the city s canals. When Roberta s body is found floating face-down in the river, the lives of Franco and his estranged wife Elizabeth (Anita Strindberg, The Case of the Scorpion s Tail ) are ripped asunder. Desperate for vengeance, Franco turns detective in a bid to track down his daughter s killer, and in the process unearths shocking evidence of depravity and corruption which implicates some of the most respected figures in Venetian society.

Released at the height of the giallo boom, this gripping mystery thriller boasts some of the most iconic names associated with the genre on both sides of the camera. Co-starring Dominique Boschero ( The Iguana with the Tongue of Fire ) and Adolfo Celi ( Thunderball ), and featuring one of the all-time greatest scores from maestro Ennio Morricone ( What Have You Done to Solange? ), Who Saw Her Die? thrills anew in its high definition debut.
