2015 cinema release
The BBFC commented:
This film was originally seen for advice. The company was advised the film was likely to be classified 18 but that their preferred 15 could be achieved by reducing the number of uses of very strong language. When the film was
submitted for formal classification, the number of uses of very strong language had been reduced and it was classified 15.
The BBFC further commented in its 2015 Annual Report:
When originally shown to the BBFC for advice, the film contained fourteen uses of very strong language, some of which were aggravated by aggression or violence. The
BBFC's Guidelines at 15 state Very strong language may be permitted, depending on the manner in which it is used, who is using the language, its frequency within the work as a whole and any special contextual justification'. This means that it is
unusual to permit more than a handful of uses of very strong language in a submission of normal feature length at 15.
In order to achieve its preferred 15 rating, the BBFC advised the distributor to reduce the number of uses of
very strong language, in particular addressing the more aggravated uses.
When the film was submitted for formal classification, the number of uses were approximately halved and the uses accompanied by violence or other aggravating
factors, including one use directed towards a child, were no longer present. The remaining uses, which are mainly self-directed within the central character's head, were acceptable at 15 in this particular context.

A team of scientists travel to Tibet to track down the Yeti. Among the group is Waldemar (Naschy) who falls in with some vampire handmaidens

The film turns out to be a low budget monster movie with just a couple of decent performances keeping it from total inanity. There's hardly any horror, and there's a few hints that

La lupa mannara is a 1976 Italy horror by Rino Di Silvestro (as RD Silver). Starring Annik Borel, Howard Ross and Dagmar Lassander.
Cut by the BBFC for cinema and VHS. Uncut in Europe and the US
Summary Notes
From notorious Italian exploitation filmmaker Rino Di Silvestro (Deported Women of the SS Special Section) comes Werewolf Woman, a psychological, psychosexual, pseudo-shapeshiter shocker and a favorite of director
Quentin Tarantino. In it, a mentally unstable young woman named Daniela (Annik Borel) fantasizes that she is the reincarnation of her long-dead ancestor, a woman who was thought to have been a werewolf. Dealing with her lifetime of sexual abuse, she
seduces men before transgressing into a feral monster, screaming, cursing and ripping them to shreds. When she meets the man of her dreams, Daniela seems ready to forgive her past and bury the beast within until another traumatic encounter seals both her
own fate and the collective fates of the Werewolf Woman's wild wrath. A strange, erotic, outrageously sleazy and provocative Eurohorror classic about a woman pushed well-past the edge of sanity, Werewolf Woman is finally presented here with the respect
it deserves, in beautifully realized, remastered high-definition. Watch it with someone you trust.
Selected by Quentin Tarantino for the First Quentin Tarantino Film Fest in Austin, Texas, 1996. He loved it so much that all
subsequent Quentin Tarantino Film Fests had a surprise movie added to the end of each all-nighter known as the Wolf Woman selection, defined as an outrageous exploitation film sure to wake the audience up.

Michael Moore is non to impressed by the MPAA R rating given to his
latest documentary. Moore spoke of the R rating to Variety:
Moore listed the parts of the film that prompted the MPAA's ruling. The violence in the picture includes footage of law enforcement officers beating Eric Garner,
a Staten Island man whose death last year helped spark a wider debate about police brutality.
The drug use is related to a section in the film on Portugal's decision to decriminalize narcotics -- a move that some suggest has led
to a reduction in substance abuse.
The language stems from the use of 'fuck' by Icelandic citizens protesting the 2009 collapse of their banks.
And the nudity is a fleeting image of a naked man.
That's from a vignette that shows how some Europeans are able to enjoy three weeks at a spa to treat stress thanks to government-backed healthcare.
Moore said he will not edit the film, and has appealed to have the rating lowered to a
PG-13.
The appeal was rejected in December 2015 and the R rating stands.
However not everyone agrees with the MPAA R rating. Cinema chain Alamo Drafthouse, with cinemas in 13 states, decided to relax its R-rating policy for the
film in February 2016. CEO Tim League said in a statement that the company can't believe the film was ever rated R in the first place:
For the first time ever, we are relaxing our 18-and-up age policy for one film. Why? We
simply don't believe Where to Invade Next should have received an R rating from the MPAA. We don't want that rating and our own age policies to get in the way of teens and their parents seeing this film. So, for the run of the Where to Invade Next we
will allow teens age 15 and up on their own...yes, it's that important.

Few countries can compete with the UK when it comes to television costume dramas . . . but American audiences, it seems, prefer
our dramas without the costumes.
A raunchy alternative version of the ten-part BBC1 series The White Queen has been created for screening in the US -- including graphic sex and nude scenes which don't appear here.
Bedroom scenes in which actors appear in the BBC version partly clothed are sexed-up for the American market -- and the actors complete the scenes naked.
As lead actor Max Irons put it: There's the BBC cut
and the Starz cut. You get a lot more arse in the Starz version -- the cameras kept rolling after the BBC stopped the scene.
Eg, in episode two Queen Elizabeth, played by Rebecca Fergusson, was seen wearing a nightdress for
her love scene with Edward IV, played by Max Irons. But when the clinch is broadcast on American television later this summer, the same actress will be shown first topless and then completely naked in the marital bed.

From IMDb. The following animator jokes were deleted from DVD releases and beyond:
Originally when Baby Herman storms off the set and puts his hand up a woman's dress, the middle finger of his hand is clearly extended.
The original film had a gag frame of Betty Boop where her dress was drawn too low in the front, revealing her nipples.
When Jessica Rabbit and Eddie are thrown out of the cab there are a few frames where
Jessica's underwear is visible, but the coloring is sometimes close to that of her legs, so that it has been mistakenly assumed that she is not wearing any underwear. This was first altered so that she is more clearly wearing white panties. It was then
altered again, so that now, her dress covers her entirely.

However he was overruled following protests by Michael Winner who was supported by Kingsley Amis, Karel Reisz, and Fay Weldon (among others) after they viewed a private showing of the film.

2009 Revelation R2 DVD titled Swedish Erotica Collection 2 at UK Amazon
The BBFC noted in the 2009 Annual Report:
Collection 2, Swedish Erotica, a compilation of three early 1970s films from Sweden (Wide Open, Love Play and More About the Language of Love) was passed 18 without cuts. The
work, which includes explicit images of sexual activity, is now very dated. By contemporary standards it is clearly not a sex work, but rather a genuine attempt to inform and educate, and the Board concluded that there was sufficient contextual
justification to allow these scenes at 18 .
Fans of 70's Swedish sex kitten Christina Lindberg may wish to check out this film which is billed as Ms Lindberg's last movie appearance.
Wide Open is actually not all that great a flick, nor does one get as much of Christina as might be wished for, and is implied by her prominent appearance on the box cover art! Lindberg had just returned from making big bucks on a Japanese movie
deal and her, newly, inflated fees only allowed Wicklund to hire her for two days of shooting... thus her presence in Wide Open is relatively minimal. Still her time on screen is used to good advantage as she is pretty much gloriously naked throughout in
scenes as diverse as a porno photo shoot to nude vacuum cleaning in her boyfriend's apartment.
The overall filmic experience of Wide Open is pretty uneven. The director was apparently attempting to create a blend of
sexiness and criminal intrigue with a light comedic overtone. From my perspective he didn't do a very good job of merging the genres.
If you are a die hard fan of Lindberg, Wide Open may be worth a look.

During World War II when the Americans needed to find a secure method of communicating they

receiving a medal for his work at the start of the film. There are also several new scenes near the start as well including a scene of Joe and Rita on the beach. This scene was included in the trailer for the film. Also a scene of all the marines taking
pictures before shipping off to war. Also an extended scene of Yazee introducing himself to Joe and joe asks if he has seen any combat to which yazee replies No, but i'm looking forward to getting into some. There were also several other smaller
additions and alternate angles and shots used.

Wings of Honneamise was cut in one place. It was a wholly gratuitous sexual assault in the middle of a film which was otherwise a wonderful experience for younger viewers. But, and this is important as other distributors
often do the same, it was voluntarily cut by Manga Video to lower the certificate from its cinema classification of 15 to a PG for the video release. When this happens, it is not registered as a cut.

The Witch who Came from the Sea is a 1976 US horror by Matt Cimber.
With Millie Perkins, Lonny Chapman and Vanessa Brown.
Always uncut but briefly banned as a video nasty in 1984. Passed 18 uncut
for 2006 DVD. Uncut and MPAA R rated in the US.
Summary Review: Odd little gem
A sensationalist cover got this video into trouble "A young woman's nightmare of incest and
castration... Molly has a way with razors!" The actual castration scene of course is well toned down.
Here is an odd little gem of a film that fortunately has resurfaced on DVD, boasting a pristine film transfer.
Descriptions of the film, the title of the film, and even the DVD cover itself do little to relate, or even hint at what is, as it turns out, an altogether strange, unsettling, humorous, and entertaining cinematic treat.
The off
kilter acting styles, unnatural tone, and dark humor of the film shares a kinship to the works of David Lynch. Highly recommended.

Summary Review: Dismal
When a storm strands a group on a Massachusetts
island where the only dwelling is an old hotel supposedly haunted by the ghost of a former German actress (Knef), the result is the standard horror film as each of the cast is picked off one-by-one.
In the review guidelines
it says not to write one word reviews, but you could about this film, and that would be DISMAL.
So many basic and obvious techniques are used, like: Wind blowing at scary moments, or crackling thunder storms. It is also a
horribly predictable storyline, and I would confidently say that a Scooby Doo show contains more mystery and suspense.

Many British film from this period that were cut by the BBFC have ended up with the cut version becoming the only version available. Maybe the existence of a US version with a running time 1 minute longer than the UK version suggests that an
uncut version may have been sent to the US and hence was available for this release.
The Witches is a 1990 UK / USA family horror fantasy by Nicolas Roeg. Starring Anjelica Huston, Mai Zetterling and Jasen Fisher.
Cut by the BBFC for a PG rating. There is an uncut European version. Uncut in the US but with an alternative happy ending
Summary Notes
A young boy, recently orphaned, is taken to
England by his grandmother. At a hotel in which they are staying, a group of witches have gathered to prepare a plot to rid the world of all children.
This is the kind of movie you can watch over and over, and each time
you'll find something new to laugh at. Trying to mimic the hilariously delivered lines in the film, has yet to lose it's novelty.
The film certainly does do justice to the classic Roald Dahl novel about the adventures of
Luke, a young boy staying at an English seaside hotel which happens to be inhabited by the entire population of English child-hating witches and their supreme leader, the grand high witch, who are all under the guise of nice charitable ladies.

rational thought and allows unscrupulous men to gain local power by exploiting village superstitions. One of these men is Matthew Hopkins, who tours the land offering his services as a persecutor of witches. Aided by his sadistic accomplice John Stearne,
he travels from city to city and wrenches confessions from "witches" in order to line his pockets and gain sexual favors.
